How is USC for people who want to live on campus all 4 of their undergraduate years?
Does this ever happen? How many of the years are undergraduates guaranteed housing, if they wish to be on-campus?

Thanks.

Fall freshman admits are guaranteed 2 years of USC housing. This does not mean “on campus” necessarily, but very close. Upper class men can participate in the housing lottery for USC owned slots as well (they just get higher numbers than sophomores). Some will get housing slots, others will not.

USC isn’t a spread-out campus and housing off campus can be quite close. The non-USC owned housing around campus can be much cheaper and/or nicer than the USC owned housing also. It depends on what you want and are willing to pay for.

If I am to receive a need-based package from USC, how will this affect living on campus?

As in, if I do not live on campus Junior year, my cost of attendance should be lower, therefore giving me less aid and forcing me to come up with roughly $5,000 for housing by myself.

Will living off campus cause these kind of financial problems, or am I thinking about this incorrectly?

We were at Explore last week and were told that this year everyone who requested on campus housing was given a spot. There were NO wait lists. They anticipate it will be the same for the next year. They said they guarantee it for two years, but that upperclass students who wanted it will likely be able to get it for the next few years as well.

You’ll probably get housing but doesn’t mean its going to be on campus. It might be in school apartments around school campus, but not on campus. And 3rd, 4th years just get stuck with whatever they give you. You can switch out though later.

There is so much around USC in terms of housing! It’s all owned by a few developers, and they’re pretty reasonable financially, IMO.
