I am having a hard time deciding between the two.
I know Michigan is better than USC ranking wise, but in terms of size isn't Michigan engineering much bigger, meaning less oppurtunities for research? And how about internship oppurtunities in the two areas?

I am OOS for Michigan and I have a little merit for USC, so they cost the same (since USC is a lot to begin with)

I have the same problem.

A larger school would have more research and internship opportunities.

^^ True that. Small school blah blah is over sold. If I had to choose again, I would definitely go with a large school. More people to hang out with, a lot of sections offered for the same class (so no need to fight over limited space on popular classes), more companies on job fair, more (and world class) researches happening.

I’m not a fan of USC engineering or the school.

Michigan has a good rep, good campus life, and a good engineering program… to me, that’s the trifecta.

Do not think this is true all across Michigan. It’s very department dependent. Some departments you have to worry about getting into your classes, others you don’t.
