USC or SCU?! HELP!!!!!

I just recently got accepted to USC, Santa Clara University, UCLA and UC Berkeley. I basically narrowed it down to USC and Santa Clara. I live in San Francisco, so going to Santa Clara would be awesome because I am familiar with the area and I'm only a short train ride from home. On the other hand, I really like USC. I would get the complete college experience and have a great time. I want to work in technology and entrepreneurship, which is very evident in Silicon Valley, where SCU is. On the other hand, USC has the bigger name. Santa Clara already have me a substantial amount of money, and I hear about USC's financial offer next week. I'm very conflicted right now! This will definitely be the hardest decision I will ever have to make. HELP ME OUT PLEASE!! USC OR SCU?!?!?!

I LOVE USC. LOVE IT. I got better financial aid to Stanford, but visiting USC I felt like I fit there. The students all seem genuinely happy and friendly. It’s the only college I’ve visited in the nation (and I’ve been to every Ivy and pretty much everything private in California and Oregon) where the sense of community was not only that strong but that enthusiastic. USC also has outstanding CS and engineering programs (I’m going into engineering), though I can’t attest to Santa Clara’s standing in those areas. I’d pick USC. Hands down. And they’re known for offering good financial aid (my aid difference between them and Stanford was just a 3k annual loan, but that’s a lot for my family). Can you visit, though? USC is a big school, and it feels like it. Both would offer you great opportunities, so wherever you feel you’d be happiest, most productive and most motivated, you should go.

I would say UC Berkeley, but if you had to choose between the two, go to USC…

Well for one thing both schools have the same alphabet letters, you just switch them around, jk. If you get financial aid from USC then go there. It’s a good idea to venture out a little further than home for college. I’m sure USC students get job in Silicon Valley and San Francisco.

^I agree with DrGoogle. Just because you go to USC (away from SV) doesn’t mean you WON’T get a job around those parts. I;m sure a lot of the older techies (and the younger ones for that matter) know of USC’s programs and the caliber of students they produce.

Unless SCU give you more aid, choose USC.

I hope you’re kidding with this thread. Fight on
