I was inquiring about the football tickets so it's for Saturday, not Friday. I'm not sure you need a ticket for Friday.

I still have not received our tickets. When I called the guy insisted to me that no one has yet received the tickets! He said that they would be mailed out two weeks in advance. Can you believe that?

suenos53, I can't believe it, so not everybody working there knows what they are talking about. That doesn't give me much confidence. And ticket were misprinted? What if they sent the tickets to the wrong addresses too?

I just received my USC football tickets. It's a small grey envelope with LA zip code.

Should we start a "Theory on the Tickets" thread or ask for "chances" of getting them in time?

Great idea! Especially because...

hmmm, sounds familiar

Got my football tickets for Parents Weekend in the mail today!

I haven't received a thing yet. No football ticket (yes only one) not a picnic one either. Apparently one is assigned seats. Does anyone know how strict this is, can we not sit with friends?

I got my football tickets several weeks ago--plain envelope with green saw tooth along the edges. I also got TWO sets of Roberta Flack concert tickets, tho I only ordered one set. I was also charged for two sets so sent one of the sets back for a refund, per instructions after calling the ticket office to see what was going on with them.

THe ticket envelopes do look like "junk mail" as they have no marking to indicate they're from USC or contain anything of value. I almost didn't open them and nearly tossed them too. I do understand that if you're not sending valuables certified, this is a good way not to attract attention of thieves.

For those heading to TPW: here is a spectacular deal on car rental (assuming that a midsize car meets your needs):

National Car weekend rental as low as $1.50 for the whole weekend!

Note that you need to click through to the confirmation page to see the discounted price. The cost of a midsize car from 8am on 10/10 through 8pm on 10/12 is a grand total of $53, all inclusive. The best "regular" rates start at 2x that with the low-tier companies and end in the mid-$100 range for the likes of Hertz and Avis. Enjoy...

hahaha, laughing out loud at this. :D

GroovyGeek: Thank you for the car rental info.

One other thing I recently learned is that AAA will try to get Hertz to match whatever car quote you got. I have gotten them to nearly match a Dollar quote as well as a different Enterprise quote.

I still haven't received my football tickets. When I emailed them, they said that it was mailed on Sept 24. But the email that was sent out recently said that they were all mailed out by Sept 19 (All tailgate picnic and football tickets were mailed by Friday, September 19). So I wonder which is the true story.

Call the USC ticket office. They will know more than the parents program office.

i finally received my tickets today, 2 days before I leave for USC. I've section 29 which I couldn't even find on the Colisseum seat chart. I hope we'll be able to see something.

are they still having parent weekend with the virus outbreak? Sounds like a public health no no.

as of now yes. I'm sure if they aren't cancelling classes, they aren't cancellig parent's weekend

Great to learn there has been a virus outbreak--everyone try to use good hygiene & keep healthy. At this point, it would be tough cancelling everything. How bad is the virus outbreak? We have our tickets to fly out Thursday afternoon for LA.

It seems to be calming down a lot. There has been quite a bit of interesting speculation among students on what it would be like if this had happened a week later. I'm grateful that wasn't the case. I haven't had any new cases today, and everything has started looking better. It still may be spreading a bit in off campus apartments (they missed the first wave, which was mainly among freshmen), but things are still looking okay. Just make sure to keep washing your hands!
