Is it better to buy a permit, or find parking somewhere else around campus, like I heard you could buy a pass at the shrine auditorium or something like that.

Will you be commuting to campus every day? How much will you be using your car, and how accessible do you want it to be?

I will not be commuting everyday, but I do want to be able to leave whenever I want.

buy Parking...Street Cleaning and Parking Violations Bureau equal about a Semesters worth if you forget twice or more along with events that happen depending on where you live

these are your alternate parking services:

the shrine aud is one of them

these are the various types of permits you may purchase:

i think i'm in the same siutation as you, i will not be commuting but i want to have a car there so i can leave whenever i want. so i ordered a permit for the parking center, which is about a block from campus and (from what i'm told) many students store their car there and its safe.

I just purchased a permit but it didn't ask for my credit card, how do they charge you for it?

OH and it was 180.00 is that just for one semster, and is that 24/7 parking.

I bought a permit at the UPC too and I found it wierd that it didn't ask for credit card information. =/ And the permit if for the fall and spring semester.

OH I just called and they said that it's billed to your student fees, so you get charged for it like in August. I got the Century 1 parking permit, because it was one of the closest to the campus, anyone no what parking structures to stay away from?

you get charged on your student bill. so dno't worry about it yet. lol

hmm...since its charged on your student bill...then is it covered by financial aid??

if you have enough financial aid, then yes it will be applied to the parking bill. But if all your aid is applied and it doesn't cover it, you've got to chip in cash/check/charge for the balance.

I would just go for whatever structure is closest to either your dorm, or you major classes (the business building, the architecture building, etc.), because none of the parking structures are shadier than the long dark walk to them at night.

OMG! The on campus lots barely went on sale yesterday and they're all sold out! :(

yea the website said they would be out in minutes and they pretty much were. For5aken, if you want, you can prob still get a permit for parking center (or is that sold out too?).

Parking Center still has spaces, but you have to walk under the 110 to get there, no?

I bought a permit to the Galen structure (the new one).

does anyone know how to buy a permit for the shrine auditorium? i tried the link above and it doesnt work. also, does anyone know what the rates are like for shrine?

For5aken: yea but there is a tram that goes until 11 pm and since i'm probablyonly going to use my car on the weekend, that was best i guess.

mbe320 : you should try calling the shrine: 213.742.1238

So you don't have to take the tram right? Is it really really far away that you can't walk to your car if you come late or early or whatever?

I got my permit at the UPC or something like that, where exactly is that and is it too far from campus.

UPX (is that UPC?) is the parking center we;re talking about: http://transnet.usc.edu/Parking/map_frame.aspx

it's like two blocks away, personally, i'd rather take the tram than walk once it gets pretty late
