<p>Hi guys, the USC Part I app is due next week, and on it they ask for intended majors (first and second option).</p>
<p>Are we automatically placed into our first choice, and if not then our second choice or something? Or is this just our academic interests? I'm confused as to how the major plays into the application process. Anyone have any insight?</p>

<p>Just academic interest, so they can send you marketing materials targeted towards your interests. Not a big deal.</p>
<p>Bluebayou is right, but admissions works like this: If you’re applying to a program in say, the Engineering school, and get rejected, you’ll be considered as a general applicant in The College (I believe). I’m pretty sure that’s what you’re wondering.</p>
