Usc Postmark Late!!!

I have descided that I want to go USC. I know the deposit deadline is MAY FIRST... but in Thailand banks are closed on may first as its a labor day holiday. I need to get the money order/check from the bank and the earliest way I can do and get it postmarked is by MAY SECOND.. will there be a problem?
I called USC admissions last nite and they said "I can't guarentee anything but send it in as soon as possible"
Im getting abit scared.. can someone please clarify the seriousness of the situation?

call them again and explain the urgency of your situation and hope that someone more understanding will pick up. you want to make sure that they don't take your money and then deny you.

According to the USC website, these are the two admissions counselors for international students. E-mail them both NOW & explain the situation & ask them for advice about this. They should be able to give you information you can rely upon & will likely have encountered similiar situations before. You can also try calling them on Monday, 5/1. So far, I have had great success getting USC folks to reply to e-mails I have sent them. Good luck & keep us posted!

Thanks for the replies and the email adresses. I just sent an email to both of them:
Hi,
My name is ... Up until yesterday, even through I have always had my heart set on going to USC, I was considering all my other possibilities. I have decided that I would like to attend USC and am ready to send in my enrollment deposit. I know that the deadline for postmarking the letter is May First. However, I in order to get the 300$ check/money order in US dollars I need to go to the bank. The problem is there in Bangkok, Thailand (where I live) the banks are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. I had always planed that I would go to the bank, get the check and then mail it on Monday so it would meet the May first postmark deadline. However, I was not aware that in Thailand, Monday May first is a public holiday (labor day) and thus all banks are closed. Because of this, I will have to go to the bank on Tuesday instead and my envelope will be postmarked may 2nd. I hope this will not be a problem. If so, is there anything I can do to reserve my space in the class? I accept responsibility as I should done all this earlier, but I can say for sure that the letter will be postmarked only 1 day late (on Tuesday May 2nd). Is there anything I should do?
Some possibilities I though about: Do it on Tuesday morning so technically it will still be postmarked May 1st American Time
or
send the letter by dhl.
Please clarify the situation for me.
Thank you,

Do u guys think there will be any problem?
I will include a letter with the envalope saying why I am late as well.

One more thing is perhaps you could also have your guidance counselor at your school contact USC about this. Sometimes they have more success in geting a response & communicating.

I would say it will likely be OK, but it's always best to check instead of being disappointed & the e-mail gives them notice about what you're planning to do & why & will let them respond if that won't work for them. If I were in your shoes, that would be what I'd do.
