USC Receives NIH Large Award to School of Gerontology

<p>Valter Longo of the USC School of Gerontology has been given a $11.5 million award from the National Institute of Health. He has been doing important research in the field of cell biology. The award will enable Professor Longo to study the mechanisms of differential cellular protection.</p>

<p>The Viterbi School of Engineering has received a $1.4 million Department of Energy grant to study particle accelerators.</p>

<p>The Whittier Foundation has awarded the Keck School of Medicine a $3 million nanotechnology grant to assist in the fight against various diseases.</p>
