For most of us here, this is a LONG way away, but did anyone consider this?

USC Renaissance Scholars

I found that some of the recipents' majors aren't that separate (e.g. two humanities), but I could imagine they had really high grades.

I think it's nice but I wouldn't not overdoing it. If my daughter can conveniently fit two majors then that is great but I would stay extra semester for it. I also think the purpose of an undergrad education is to explore, ie take as many different courses in different areas as possible.

My son who just graduated did it. He had an engineering major and a music performance minor. The certificate is nice.

Did he go for the $10k?

The $10K is not for every Renaissance Scholar. I think it is a prize to some selected Renaissance Scholar.

Also the prize is only awarded if you enter graduate school somewhere.

I'm doing two completely separate majors whether I get it or not, but it'd definitely be a nice perk :).

i am doing two majors but if i manage to graduate with a 3.5+ doing engineering and math i will be more surprised than anyone else

haha good luck furyshade... tough stuff!

You do get five years to prove the grad school enrollment though, so it can be deffered.

And the breakdown (Renaissance approved:Prize applicants:Prize winners) is usually 200:75:10.
