USC Resident Honors Program 2019-20

Hi guys!
I recently applied to USC RHP for the 2019-20 school year and I was wondering if any of you guys did as well.
I applied as a biochemistry major with a premed emphasis.
I honestly have no idea how any of this works, nobody near my vicinity have applied to RHP, so it would be really helpful if you guys could help me out haha  lol I don’t think I’m going to get in, but it was quite an adventure doing the application.
When should I be expecting to hear back about an interview???

@wakeupaurora hey there! Im pretty much on the same boat as you and I did some research to answer your questions lol…There is no interview this year for RHP undergraduate admissions apparently as there is no more automatic Dean scholarship…if you dont mind me asking what were your stats/EC you applied with… I applied to marshall school of business so we prob won’t be competing against eachother

@jaykumar017 oh my…I was so disappointed when they told us the dean scholarship was going to be cancelled this year, especially because they told us the day before the applications were due. I was sort of looking forward to the interview haha, thanks for letting me know tho
Honestly my stats aren’t very good…I’m hoping that the essays/rec letters will get me through but here are some I can remember writing down:

GPA: 4.0/4.36
SAT: 1540 (740 RW 800 M)
SAT II: 800 (Korean) 800 (Math II)
Rank: my school doesn’t rank but i think top 5% (around 700+ students)
AP: European History (5)
Current Course Load: AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, AP Biology, APUSH, AP Lang

EC:
President and Founder of the Justice for Comfort Women Club
Glendale Liaison/Student Representative for Comfort Women Justice Coalition
President of Autism Speaks
3 Years Varsity Speech and Debate (1x State Qualifier)
2 Years Varsity Golf
Event Coordinator for American Red Cross
200+ hours volunteering at a local hospital
National Honor Society (2 years)
Church - Keyboardist, Sound Director (around 200+ service hours)

Work Experience:
Private Tutor (approx 4 years)
Internship/Paid Desk job at a Real Estate Office
Private Photography (2 years)

wow now that it’s written down it seems really crappy but hopefully the rest of the application will pull through sighhh how about you?

@wakeupaurora Mines not that good either… I applied to Business administration
I think my weakness by far is my SAT 1460 :frowning:
also hoping for ecs and recs to pull me through

I am in the same boat with your guys. I applied as a biomedical engineering major.

My weakness is my lack of EC’s :frowning:

Yea USC cares a lot about EC unfortunately because they are very holistic during application review, more so than other colleges

Who knows how many students that USC will plan to accept?

I had an interview 2 weeks ago, but I think it was for general admission…not scholarship

My daughter also had an interview a couple weeks ago- I believe it was just for admission not scholarship.
