Hello, I just got a letter from USC introducing me to the Residential Honors Program and just wanted to see where I am in the competition!

I don’t have my essays and recommendations done yet, but they will probably be really generic.

MIT will let you apply early but they don’t have a program encouraging it.

I think you have a very strong chance of admission as long as you have decent recs and essays.

If by USC you mean the calif school, then I consider it a high match for you as your SAT score is a bit low.

Very good chance. USC’s SAT (25/75 percentiles) for Fall 2015 applicants were 1730-2120, admits were 2040-2260 and enrolled were 1980-2200.
