ECS: President of multiple clubs including- girls who code, bone marrow drive, research club, started a nonprofit to help cancer patients, got funding to start a middle school STEM outreach/teaching STEM to girls with autism,etc…
Research: Internships in biomedical research from freshman year, paid research internship this year as part of a rigorous life sciences program, publishing clinical research
Assist with a healing arts workshop for cancer patients
Writing a paper on environmental global health

I just found out about the RHP yesterday and am scrambling to get all my essays etc done by the Dec. 1 deadline
However, no one I know/from my high school has applied to this program, so I’m not sure how competitive, prestigious, etc. this is. Can anyone let me know the acceptance rate to this program? Am I a competitive applicant?
I love USC’s health care minor and the opportunity to take med school classes in undergrad!!!
Any advice for RHP/the essays?

Be prepared to respond to the obvious concern: why would you forgo your senior year in high school to be an isolated, under-age college student? This is a serious concern.

I think you sound like exactly the type of smart, motivated, accomplished, mature student that RHP is looking for. My son was admitted to RHP and he is loving USC. He is a sophomore this year. Said last year was the best year of his life so far! I really don’t know any of the stats, but if you call the program someone there will be happy to answer your questions. My son did miss out on his senior year and graduation and all that entails, but he got a jump on college and very, very happy! Not isolated at all…making lots of new friends and having amazing experiences both in and out of class. Just another perspective.
