USC SCendoffs for New Students Announced

Each summer USC alumni clubs around the world welcome new SC students to the Trojan Family. SCendoffs are held before the students head off to Los Angeles in August. These occasions provide the opportunity for family members, freshmen and transfers to meet alumni and current students. Some of the clubs have already set dates and times. I will add more club events as they are released. Responses can be made through the USC Alumni Association website.

@Georgia Girl: Do the alumni clubs get a list of admitted students from USC and then send out invites to these SCendoffs? I got in on appeal for spring admit, so am I still able to go to a SCendoff (I know that it’s a party to send off students to their fall semester haha)? Thanks for posting these by the way :)

Yes, you can go, you just have RSVP for the respective one.

Yes, do go. Just let the host know ahead of time as they plan for food and refreshments. Our Atlanta alumni give out small gifts.

The host contact is on the USC Alumni Association website. If I included all that extra information the posts would be pages long.

And for wealthy alumni to show off… $endoff… LOL!

^^ Actually, our host last year was very gracious in opening his home and sharing his love of his school. It was a great day for new students to get to know others from the area and make connections. Spring admits are definitely welcome and did attend. The students got all sorts of USC stuff too.

Many schools do this for their students to let them know how excited they are for their opportunity and new adventure. I remember going to mine (not USC) many years ago. Nothing to be snarky about at all.

Our Scendoff last year in Silicon Valley might have been different then, because we definitely had to register on a web site. While our incoming freshman was free, there was a small charge for current students and parents. The event was totally worth it though – band members played, the food was sublime, and the home (a castle really, nestled in the Los Altos hills) couldn’t be beat. Yes, some alums are wealthy and proud of their school. I don’t see the problem ;-)

I can say I’m guilty of google mapping their homes. ^_^
