USC Scholarship Deadline Information

I know that the USC Scholarship Deadline is December 1, and that you apply for this to be considered for scholarships, but what are the details? All scholarships? Merit scholarships?

Are there pros and cons to applying for this, like will it limit my chances of acceptance? Just asking for more information. Thanks!

Applying by the December 1st deadline will make you eligible for USC merit scholarships that range from the Stamps (full tuition + $5,000) to the University Scholarship ($2,500/year).

The December 1st deadline is NOT an ED or EA program. The vast majority of applicants will hear about admission by April 1st. A small percentage will hear about their admission status in late January/early February when they are invited to interview for the half to full tuition scholarships. Those who are not invited to interviews are still eligible for smaller merit scholarships and may hear about them in April.

National Merit Scholars are currently awarded a half-tuition merit scholarship at USC if accepted and if they name USC as their first choice. They do not have to be invited to interview for the NMS USC scholarship.

There are no negatives to applying by December 1st. None. No advantage will be gained by waiting until the January deadline. The only difference is that those who apply in January will NOT receive USC merit scholarships, regardless of their qualifications.

Need-based financial aid is a separate process and those who apply by either deadline are eligible to apply for need-based aid. The CSS/Profile and FAFSA are due by February 1st, 2014.

Good luck.
