USC Scholarship results notification date?

^ I got the same thing when I just checked.

Yeah same. Does that mean I’m not getting a scholarship…

I don’t think they ever used this one before.

Same change here. Now we are really speculating since it’s a status message that apparently has never been used before.

yep mine is the same, how about Owl’s?

We all have the same message as riceisnice. Are we all screwed for scholarships?

its weird… because I don’t think anyone from the previous year’s have had this status before… and we all are above the 75th percentile… maybe if we knew some people from a wider range of percentiles who got the status change as well? know any friends to ask? i just asked mine

Hearing from Owl should help us figure this out.

apparently one of my friends has the same one…and she’s a beast in terms of college apps, so no worries I guess.

That’s a relief. It wasn’t making sense with the stats we have all been posting. For a minute there I was sick to my stomach.

Same here. But after thinking some more about this…the status says, “we have recieved your application” Maybe that is what all of them say? In any case, maybe these statuses are ambiguous in the first place. I mean, we sent in our apps two months ago, and now it says that our application has been recieved? I’d expect they had gotten the applications two months ago when we sent them. This might not be bad…hopefully.

Does anyone know if the SCA considers your portfolio at all for scholarship consideration?

I’m not sure what to think about this new status message … other than to encourage everybody not to freak about the status messages! Apparently, according to people who would know, the status messages can be unpredictable and apparenlty meaningless, or at least not a window into the future, at any rate.

My son’s status message used to say … well, whatever the one was about forwarding his application to committee for review. And now it says, just 30 minutes after it said the other thing, “We have recieved your application, and it appears we require no additional information at this time. We will be reviewing applications through the month of March, and we expect to be able to meet our commitment to notify freshmen by April 1st. …” Either that means his application went to review, and they decided he didn’t warrant further review, because he wasn’t chosen for the big scholarships after all; or it means that his application went to review, and they chose him, but then changed his message to the generic message since they were done with his app; OR it means absolutely nothing predictable at all! lol

We’re over here trying not to read anything into anything. I guess we’ll all know in relatively short order … :)

I guess we will just need to wait for the mail as suggested. Now if only I could tear myself away from this computer!

^Ditto to that!

Okay, I just can’t help myself. It might be interesting to know if all of the people who have been on the forwarded status the last day or two are now on the new message of the app having been received. SimpleLife said that is true for her S. What about the others?

Because if everyone is on the new application received status it may be USC’s way of telling us to go back to our lives and wait for the mail. :)

I had the new status, and i’m now to that new one. WEIRD!

So this might suggest that all applicants across the board are on the new “application received” status. Is there anyone still on a different status?

My son is on the new message too!

^Hmm. Could it be that the system electronically knows that you’ve reviewed that page, since you signed in and went to it … and then it reverts to the other, newer message?

WAIT!! I said my family wasn’t going to try to read anything into it! How did I get sucked back into this thing? And WHY can’t I get myself off this computer?! lol

I’m NOT going to read anything into it … neither is my son. :)
