USC School of Dramatic Arts vs. NYU: Tisch School of Arts

I'm trying to decide which school would be a better option for me to go to for Theatre. USC or NYU?
I'm planning on going into film/television after college. Plus, money is a little tight. Any suggestions? Which one would help me further my career? I know USC is in LA so it would be closer to the business, but New York also has some opportunities.

My friend had the same issue when choosing where to go for theatre. She went with USC because besides being from CA, she said that USC was less expensive because she also didn’t have to be so far from home, and USC gives a B.A. in Theatre compared to NYU’s B.F.A so she could go to film/tv after undergrad if she wanted to. And LA is more film oriented, so it would be a better alternative :)

My daughter is a freshman in the BA program at USC. It is early in her time there; but, here are some of the things that have impressed me about attending that program if you are interested in tv and film: The Trojan Network is so strong in LA. If all things are equal, a Trojan will hire a USC grad every time. The director of Undercover Bosses ( a Trojan Alum) came and talked with us during parent’s weekend about all the opportunities in the entertainment industry. He told how he hired a USC grad to be his assistant. When it was over he offered his email to my daughter. He said her next internship should be with a casting director. He said she should email him and he would give her a list of casting directors she should try to work with! After that we listened to a panel of instructors and the Dean of School of Dramatic Arts discuss the
program and take our questions. They suggested that each student find someone in the department to mentor them through their 4 years. My
daughter already has 2 instructors she is thinking of for her mentor. One
of her sorority sisters is a junior in the BA program and she has an
agent and currently has a recurring guest role in a comedy. These are
just a few examples from someone 2 1/2 months in! So, from my
perspective, if you want to end up in film or tv there is no better place
than USC and the Trojan Nation!

D is USC BA jr, currently on semester abroad at BADA, enjoying it a lot and was very easy to arrange through USC. Accomodation is only thing once out of freshman year can be difficult to find and expensive
