Anyone here have any experience with the screenwriting UG major at USC? Anyone applied and got in, or is currently enrolled? If so, I have a couple questions. I'm wondering what the stats are for transfer students into that major. I'm assuming it's low but I'm an experienced screenwriter, with sales, options and have been repped by one of the big 4. So I'm wondering if my experience in the industry would actually help sway the admissions board if I applied as a transfer? Thoughts on this major and it's acceptance rate for transfers welcome. Thanks!

I think it’s a small department, my daughter has a friend who was accepted into this major freshman year. She was also accepted to a lot of prestigious universities like Yale, etc… She was a trustee scholarship recipient.

Thanks, I’ve got a call in to the department and an email, so hopefully I’ll have some details soon. Thanks!

Maybe, maybe not, it depends on how you phrase your writing. Colleges want to make students so if it seems like you are already well accomplished, that is to say overqualified, it might work against you. So make sure you write about how you need the major to keep filll in gaps in your education, help you in your career, etc.

Yeah, that was going to be my angle, that I still have a lot to learn, want to accomplish in the industry, etc. Had a feeling it was going to be a balance game and not to come off too strong. Thanks for the help!
