USC Sent me a Letter. Any info on why?

I received a letter from USC in March 2012 expressing their interest in me because they received information from the collegeboard suggesting that my achievements will be a great addition to the student body.

They gave me a USC ID and told me to go to their website, and use that ID to answer some questions about myself. All was well and I replied soon after.

Now, being in my senior year, I got another piece of USC mail saying that the "2013-2014 Common Application is now available."

So are they really interested in me or is this just BS spam?

Keep in mind that the letter in March was signed by Kirk Brennan, the associate Dean and Director.

Regards,

Sounds like you’re just on their mailing list. They probably sent that same letter to everyone who is eligible to apply, letting them know that the applications are open. If you intend to apply there, better to do it sooner rather than later. Don’t put it off to the deadline.

If they are really interested in you attending, they will not only accept you, but they will offer you scholarships (good for four years) that would make them cost-competitive with UCLA.
