USC SGR - Chances of being Accepted/Rejected?

Hi friends,

USC sent me a Spring Grade Request and I just wanted to ask a few things to help ease my anxiety:

• Has anyone ever gotten an SGR, received all As in their Spring courses, and got rejected?
• Does receiving all As in Spring courses affect Acceptance vs Rejection at all?
• Is this a first come first serve - whoever submits Spring Grades first gets into the pool? (I get mine by May 31st and I’m not sure when it will be uploaded to my Unofficial Transcript so if this is the case, I’m a little scared)

Thank you!

They are specifically asking you for your Spring Grades. Our high school had all the students, who applied to privates, submit pre- stamped envelopes for grade requests.

Your counselor is familiar with this request. Some counselors just automatically forward these. Contact your high school counselor if you have any questions.

Go ahead and submit your records. There is no prize for racing your grades in, but do it as soon as possible.

  1. Yes, unfortunately. I remember an applicant on here who maintained his 4.0 and he was still rejected. I myself had 5 A’s and 1 B. I got rejected too. You can get perfect grades (or in my case less than perfect) and still get rejected. It’s really that competitive.

  2. Of course getting better grades = better chances, but there’s really no such thing as a sure thing, sadly.

  3. It is not. This would be very unfair to quarter system students who have no final spring grades to submit until mid/late June. It just means you might get a decision earlier than those on the quarter system/those who have a late semester.

Good luck :slightly_smiling_face:
