USC SGR Transfer Thread 2011

you mailed in your grades already?!

yes sent in 2 weeks ago

hey guys this may sound like a dumb question but for USC to have sent out SGR’s to us (those that had less than 30 units at the time of application) that means they already viewed our high school records and were ok with it right?

because since I have just under 30 units, and did not do well on my SAT scores I am wondering if USC has already looked past that and will now focus only on my college records? or will they go back and look at SAT scores ? I’m just 1 unit short so I hope they don’t reject me just because of having to look at my SAT scores…

what do you think?

Do you guys think I should send in my transcript with spring grades on it even though my language lab class (.25 units, graded on pass/fail) is still pending? but all other classes have been posted

SC received my spring grades on the 18th and processed them today, the 24th. my status currently "“We have received the spring grades requested by the committee. We will be forwarding your file for further review very soon. For students submitting spring grades, we typically mail final decisions by mid-July.”

has anyone gotten this status and heard good news??

I just got my SGR in the mail today… got my acceptance a few days ago though. I think they were mailed the same day.

@MOOOSH because you have less than 30 credits they probably will look back at your high school stuff. But they most likely already acknowledged how you did in high school and apparently did not have a big problem with it since they wanted to see more from you. So don’t worry too much.

@CrownOftheSea I would send in my unofficial transcript now with an explanation of the .25 credit lab. And then have an official transcript sent when all of your grades come out.

@dreamupsided0wn That is confusing. Well you were definitely accepted so CONGRATULATIONS  The only reason I can come up with for why they would do that is if you were an upcoming sophomore and they wanted to make sure you passed all of your classes giving you at least 30 transferable credits.

Just got my spring grades. I’m mailing my grades first thing tomorrow. I REALLY hope my 3.769 is good enough

are you guys mailing official transcripts or unofficial?

Hey ! has anyone been rejected that you know of… who got a SGR?

I know a couple people were rejected last year after receiving SGRs and sending in their grades. but I have not heard anyone this year yet.

Well the trend right now is pretty good! No rejections yet.

anyone who knows of the Trojan Transfer Plan…have you heard of anyone offered that getting rejected??

Hey guys do u guys know whether a 4.0 for spring is a guaranteed admission after they sent me an sgr? Really worried :(

no such thing as a guaranteed admission! but a 4.0 will probably be very helpful in their decision!

does it seem like most ppl with sgrs have heard back within a week of submitting grades? they just got my grades friday and I know they say it could be as late as mid-july, but just started noticing that a few sgrs have heard back right away.

wow I don’t get my grades for another two weeks

just checked my usconnect and my status already changed from “unable to process” to “the commitee is reviewing”

^ is this status change a good thing?

I also won’t be getting my grades for another few weeks since my finals are next week so I guess the fastest way of submitting is to do the grade report option but I don’t really know how that works…

can someone please fill me on this? Do I have to give the forms to my teachers or do they have them themselves?
