Hello I graduated from high school this May and started Community College this summer. I have been a full time student since the summer (6 units and passed both classes with A's) and I am have started my fall semester this week (12 units in total for the four classes that I am currently taking). I would love to transfer to my dream school USC and get into Anneberg School for Communication & Journalism since I plan on majoring in Broadcast Journalism. I plan on taking the transferable courses that USC wants and also meet for Annenberg transfers. I found out that its possible to transfer as a sophomore to USC and would continue to do my best to hopefully get admitted for next year. Now what I need help with is everything I must do in order to apply for sophomore year and the expectations that must be met. Ill start now and say that my highscool record was not the best and I never took the SAT. I read that USC will look at HS records and SAT for students who apply with less than 30 units and make it part of the decision for admissions. Now if they have 30 units or more the HS records and SAT wont taken for consideration that determines admission but HS records will still be looked at regardless. I will most likely have 30 units by the end of the winter semester. Now I am not sure when the winter semester ends but I have a feeling it will end a day before application deadline for USC! If I don't get admitted to USC for next year but apply again for junior standing, will my chances of getting in be smaller since I got rejected from USC the first time? When i turn in my application will USC ask for a spring grade request? I ask this because I want USC to see that I will still be taking GE requirements for USC (mostly pertaining to Annenberg) and see that I am doing excellent in them. Also I wont be taking English 103 or 102 till spring semester and also intermediate college level math which are the required classes that fulfill the GE requirements for the Mathematics and English categories. I also should have started on my college application now if i plan to transfer to sophomore year correct? Thank you all who read my whole post and I hope that you all answer everyone of my concerns and suggest the best advice! :)
