USC Spring 2015 admitted transfers

Hey I thought I would start a thread for the Spring 2015 admits to chat in since the Fall 2014 has one!

@transferr2014‌ Hey, i’m a spring 2015 admit ! hope to learn more from you and others in this thread!

@jjlee88 hey glad someone is using this thread with me! Where are ya from and do you know yet if youll accept your offer of admission?

@transferr2014 i live in LA, USC is not too far from where i live. Wbu? & most likely i will accept although i would like to see the financial aid asap. you?

Hey guys, I’m a spring admit as well. How many spring admits do you think there are?

@jjlee88‌ O wow I’m on the east coast, I don’t even think I’ll be able to visit USC before the deposit is due, it pretty much depends on my financial aid as well.

@Coolkid094‌ Great to see another person! And I don’t know…there doesnt seem to be many on here but apparently 200ish accept the spring admission offer according to the USC book that came with the acceptance package.

@transferr2014‌
Oh that’s cool. I hope we see more spring admits soon.

Are any of you guys worried about housing yet?

@Coolkid094 Not really. I still haven’t received my FA package. Plus I figured that maybe The Lorenzo will have 3 bedrooms available again by January.

@scahopeful‌

So housing like The Lorenzo just assign random roommates who sign up? Are almost all housing places like this?

@Coolkid094 Well they have a roommate matching service though if you opt out, you will get a random. However, The Lorenzo is not affiliated with USC.

Also, USC housing has a roommate matching service as well.

We can’t even sign up for Spring 2015 USC housing until July, is this correct?

@transferr2014‌ @scahopeful‌ I visited Lorenzo the other day, it was real nice ! Do you guys know what you’re going to do over fall? I’m thinking of maybe taking a class or 2 and work or just work full.

@jjlee88 Actually, right now it is easier for me to start in Spring for various reasons. However, I do want to do the Summer orientation date (don’t think I’ll have time for the Winter date). Does anyone know if we can do this?

@Ngarcia3 Is it absolutely necessary to go to orientation? Can I just get away with a visit and an appointment with an advisor?

@scahopeful You can try but im sure you will still have to attend the spring orientation because that is when you choose your classes.

Hey guys has anyone had any luck trying to transfer into fall instead of spring? I really want to get into fall but the admissions office representatives seem like they don’t really know much about the process and I’ve emailed my counselor so much throughout the year so I don’t want to annoy him lol

Hmm that’s interesting. At the university I’m at now, we start registering for Spring courses in mid October. We start registering Fall in early April. It wouldn’t make sense for them to have me register for courses on Jan 7th since school we be back in session on the 12th. I’m sure most courses will be filled by then. Does every student only get a few days to register for courses or only incoming students?

@uscindian‌ Nah I was going to but now I’m pretty content on Spring. Gives me much more time to plan moving across the country.

@uscindian can you let me know if you find out please ?
@transferr2014 do you guys know if we should mail our fall semester grades to USC right away? Cause this is my final week so i don’t have much time lol

@jjlee88‌ I did yesterday just to be safe. I’d say as soon as possible but I really have no idea.

@scahopeful Idk if you can do that. You might be able to just see your admissions counselor but I HIGHLY recommend going! We had a FB group for spring transfers and we all met up at orientation.

And I know it sucks!You cant leave the room until you have 16 units either. Its only incoming students everyone else will start choosing their classes in October/November
