So happy for you, Snowdog and collegemom. Fight on!

Got the call for being bumped up!

Oh, YEAH! Congrats to all!

no call:(. I hope there’s still hope.

Congratulations to collegemom48 and UCapplicantdc (hmm on your nom, UC… heh). Such good news. I know you will be extra friendly to all the spring admits who are not so fortunate. This way, they’ll all have FB friends from the spring-admit thread to meet and connect with when they do get to campus.

Hang in there spring folk. These bumps tend to be decided by room in one’s major/School and a bit of good old-fashioned luck.

Yeah haha I’m from east coast originally planned on going to ucla, but I want to study buisness and after visiting decided USC was better for me haha. So glad I got bumped up otherwise it would have been hard to justify waiting when I could just go to UCLA. Sorry for grammar I’m on phone .

Well there is always something to complain about I guess…for spring semester our finaid was calculated such that the entire EFC was applied to the semester and payable by us – I could not complain as after all that is our EFC for the academic year. But, I was surprised, not in a good way, to review the newly revised award and discover that our expected contribution for two semesters is now 2x our EFC. I am contacting the financial aid office to learn whether this is intentional or not, but, not happy :(

I got bumped up too! It definitely helped relieve stress from studying for APs xD

Anyone know how many spring admits they bumped up this year?

Just got accepted as a spring admit 2013!!! Confused about how housing is going to work at this late date but hopefully the acceptance package will explain more.

trojans17, congrats! I’m a spring admit too! I registered on the housing portal but the application is for 2012/2013 academic year only?

Slightly worried but mostly just jittery cause I’m so relieved, haha. Should we just wait till the package comes before we do anything? :/

Congrats to you^ both! Spring admits register for housing July 1, it will spell that out in your admission packet. USC reps told us they’ve always found housing for all spring admits.

thank you rissane! congrats to you too!! did you join the facebook group for spring admits yet? :)

like @snowdog said, we should probaby wait for the admission packets before we contact the admission office with any questions. i hope it arrives today or tomorrow! :)

Spring admits group link doesn’t seem to be working for me, any help I can get here? I’m really anxious to join that group and make some friends! Thank you :)

I posted this to “FAQ for USC Financial Aid” thread too.

Please help answer a question.

My D is a Spring 2013 admit, and she just got the Fin. Aid package (she received the email, so it should be complete).

My question is if it says the EFC is $X, is $X for the whole year?

In other words, for next year (assume the exact same family financial), are we expecting EFC to be $X or $2X for the whole year?

Thanks for your help.

^ Sent you a pm. In our recent experience, EFC will $2X.

Are there any more regular admission Spring admits that got bumped up to Fall in the past week or so? Just wondering if the calls are still being made and if there is any hope for my son. Thanks.

It is probably only a micro sliver of the pie that separates fall admits from spring admits so I would considered any acceptance to USC a major accomplishment. Just use your 6 months of freedom from smog in a constructive way like attending Santa Monica Community College. Not only will your low cost CC credits count the same as expensive fall USC freshman credits but your lungs will thank you too.

archs4, Im with you. Be grateful. A rejection letter would be much more depressing than a spring admit. Im a spring admit too, and I’m just thrilled to be accepted.

Quick question, how did USC notify of a fall bump? Email? Phone? Thanks
