Alright so I (finally) got all my responses back from colleges two days ago, and I was very very verrrry happy to find out I was admitted to USC. It wasn't until a day later though that it truly registered that it was for the spring semester. USC is an amazing school and if I were admitted for the fall it would be a no-brainer, but I am currently choosing between USC spring and Emory (entering in the fall, they don't have spring admits) and I'm afraid that spring admits may lose out on the "experience" of joining the USC community as a freshman in the fall. I know its not the best reason to be iffy about USC, but I always pictured starting in the fall. If anyone has any input on the spring admit experience/ if anyone else has been admitted for the spring I would so appreciate your thoughts on the whole thing!

My son will be a spring admit. I suggest joining the Spring admit Facebook group. There are some upperclassmen on there who can answer your questions. We are actually viewing this as a positive. He is looking to do study abroad with a new program USC created just for Spring admits.

@gamergal27 I actually just joined! At this point I am definitely leaning more towards USC- but what is the program that your son is doing? That sounds like an amazing idea for spring admits. Thanks for the helpful response!

My D was a transfer spring admit. She started USC after having completed 3 terms at her CC and was able to transfer nearly all of the classes. She got a cinema degree. The study abroad for Spring admits does sound very cool! I’m sure many will be interested in that!

@giorgirose You should have a Spring admits URL in your acceptance package. That is where you will find ideas for what to do in a Fall including a study abroad in Paris. I called USC today and they said it is such a new program that they won’t even have details to share for at least two weeks. This is the first year they are doing this program.

Wow thats awesome. Sounds like a great way to meet students even before stepping on campus. Thanks for sharing! I’ll do some research on it.
