USC Status Update

Applicant numbers from official USC profile:

For incoming 2008-2009 class 35,900

For incoming 2009-2010 class 35,753

Keep in mind SC does not use the common application. Each student has to fill out the USC application form separately. Also, some of the schools require an early application date, portfolio and/or audition.

Has anybody besides midwestdad’s son gotten the “committee has acted” status? Mine’s still on “forwarded for committee review.”
STOP TOYING WITH ME USC
I just want a status that says “we have not accepted you yet.” not all this cryptic stuff!

Time … keeps flowing like a river … to the sea …

View from the Tommy Trojan cam shows umbrellas on campus. Yup, it’s raining again! I thought it was ironic that when we took the campus tour with S last November, it was also raining then. The tour guide made light of it by pretending he didn’t know how to use an umbrella. Most the the people on the tour were from the midwest and northweast and thought nothing of that weather.

I just got an email from Fedex.

Al Padilla of U. of Southern California sent – 1 FedEx Ground package(s).
This shipment is scheduled to be sent on 01/25/2010.

Reference information includes:

Reference: 328-Ug Admit
Status: Shipment information sent to FedEx

Does this mean anything???

are you an international?

Oh gosh. I just hope I get that status update, that email, that package!
So nervous. And will be for the next 3 months. Watch out!

Hey, oxolojo, did you get my message?

I applied as an international but ive lived in the us 10+ yrs. my status also seems to be “forwarded for committee review”.

congratulations annisele, you’re in!

annisele:

I’d check the roster for USC Admissions to see if there’s an Al Padilla. Was he the rep for your area? International applicant usually get this notice of a fat pack. Strong, good vibes coming your way.

I’m waiting to see if any domestic mail has been received from LA applicants who, traditionally, are the begining recipients in the first wave of acceptances.

Good luck!

PS Al Padilla works for Dept of Mail and Production … Division ENROLLMENT SERVICES … likely the ones responsible for sending the fat packs.

PPS Just noticed from your post “Ug Admit”

Sounds like UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION to me!

Gah… nothing changed for me yet! Still on the “forwarded” status.

I wonder if they can’t accept a student until the Mid-Year Report is sent in? Does anyone know if this is true or false?

False. Some students are still taking semester finals, like my S. His mid-year grades won’t be available until next week at the earliest.

It appears that midwestdad2 and annisele both have the “forwarded” status. midwestdad2’s s’s status changed and annisele’s receiving a package from usc ug admit.

Good news for those of us with forwarded statuses, it would appear.

No USC snail mail today (Los Angeles county.)

FindAPlace: Tomorrow there will most likely be something “Cardinal 'n Gold” in the mail box for applicants from LA County. Or maybe Thursday…It all depends.

FindAPlace,

No worry. I bet you will receive the acceptance letter in LA county earlier than we do from the snowy midwest (lol). Good luck to your son!

how do I get to the camel website or whatever

I heard that people last year received packages in the mail without their status changing to the “committee has acted on your application” status. Or, it changed the day they received the package.

I’m hoping that this scenario is true for me, haha XD

My status has said “We are currently in the process of reviewing your app” for the past week or so after several people stated theirs changed to “Your application has been forwarded,” and as of today mine has also been changed to “Your application has been forwarded.” It could be a rolling change that everyone will eventually receive.

i just checked my stat and it still says ur app has been recieved and is currently being reviewed…its been like this since i submitted my app in novermber
