USC Students...

Can you guys tell me the number of units you complete each school year? Thanks.

i havent started classes yet, but i've registered and got all the general bits down...per semester, 16 units is considered a normal load, 18 units is the maximum load before you start paying on a unit by unit basis, and i think you might need special permission to take more.

so for the year, it'd be between 32-36 units. and all USC students need to complete a minimum of 128 units to graduate.

you need special permission to register for more than 20, even if you plan to drop one class.

It's kinda annoying because I like to register for one more class than I am really going to take, so I can decide the 1st week which I like more. But if that total goes over 20 units, you can't do that :(

yeah, i wasnt sure if it was 18 or 20, i just knew something was up between the two. thanks for the heads up.

phobos,

I'm from texas, where schools are on a semester system, with twelve hours considered as "full time student" (4 classes @ 3 semester hours/class).

What is considered "full time" at USC? Thanks...

Full-time at USC is a minimum of 12 units, although you pay for 18 units as a "full time" student - so you might as well use them. (This is per semester, by the way).

Most CLAS classes are 4 units, Viterbi classes are generally 3 units. I dont know about the other schools...

thanks cubsrule!
