USC Summer Internships?

Is there such thing? I have no plan for this summer at all. And I want to spend it productively. I was wondering if there's an internship I can do at USC. Or any other places where I can find internships opportunities would be nice too.

I have found some on usc career site, but most of them require some sort of experience or class standing. Im just a high school graduate who’s starting at USC this fall…so I can’t find one that I can do…

You’ll probably have better luck looking for internships in your hometown – like at a political organization, community group or something similar. There is no such thing as “internships at USC”; students get internships at outside companies or work on-campus research positions/jobs at USC. USC jobs are all for students currently enrolled, so you’re not eligible until you come to school in August.

Most internships in Los Angeles require you also receive class credit to work, so be aware of this as it may eat up some of your class units per semester.

I suggest getting your bearings and only working an on-campus job your first year and get an internship for fall of your sophomore year the summer between year 1 and year 2. Many companies only accept sophomores, juniors and seniors anyway.
