USC offers a summer study program for highschool students that I am interested in attending. I was wondering if anyone here was in the program, knew someone who was in the program, or was involved in it. I am considering applying to this program for next summer because I will be a rising senior then. I am interested because it offers college credit, it should be fun, and I hope it will also boost my chances at admission the following spring.
So, does anybody know anything about this program? Do you think it will help my chances at getting in or not?

My daughter attended this program (journalism) in between the summer of her junior and senior year. She LOVED it, made friends from all over the world that she still stays in contact with, had amazing professors, and was accepted @ USC into Annenberg when she applied her senior year. It gave her 3 college units and looked great on her college applications…she also got into Berkeley, UCLA, and some schools back East, but chose USC because of Annenberg’s outstanding reputation. This program is stellar!!

if you don’t mind sharing, what were your daughter’s stats when she applied? I’m applying as well thanks =)

i attended the USC Summer Seminars this past summer for the Entrepreneurship course. It was AMAZING! My professors were wonderful and it gave me the opportunity to meet so many new people. You make a lot of connections and get a lot of opportunities there if you go with the right mindset that your ultimate goal is getting into USC like mine was.

I’m happy to say I am now a USC Trojan Class of 2015! :D

if it means anything to future people who read this thread, so far the trend seems to be that people who attended the USC Summer Program were eventually accepted to USC. I ended up attending a similar, but cheaper and closer to home program at the University of Richmond, but was rejected from USC. So, attendance at this program seems to help admission…go figure
