<p>i did it last summer. i havent heard back yet, so i cant really say if it helps. while i was at summer seminars though they did say that this was their sort of first step in recruiting freshmen. in all honesty, i dont think it makes a huge difference. if you have good grades and test scores, youll get in. if you dont, having gone to summer seminars wont change much.</p>
<p>if you are really interested in usc though, i think you should go not for the admission bump but for the experience. you live in the dorms, work out in the gym, eat in the cafeteria, meets professors, etc. most importantly, you become really familiar with the campus. having gone to summer seminars makes me feel way more comfortable going to usc-if accepted- (im from far away) then if i hadnt. </p>

<p>I went the the summer seminar in 06, and am still waiting to hear for fall of 08. It certainly can't hurt... dunno if it helps, but I can tell you that I do have a USC ID that says student, as well as having already had an ID and three units of credit at SC...</p>
