USC theatre admissions?

I've only seen a couple of people on CC admitted to USC for acting... is it because most of the people on CC forums are more business and engineering oriented or is it because (I hope, I hope, I hope) there are still lots of slots left and School of Theatre just hasn't mailed theirs yet? :) I've been accepted at Chapman (with $21k scholarship) and Santa Clara (with $12k) but my heart longs for USC. I had 2080 SAT and 3.89 unweighted GPA and I thought my audition went well. My status has been "being reviewed" for awhile now. It's driving me crazy waiting to hear. Anyone else in the same boat?

I know a few people been accepted into the BFA program. I personally recived admission witha major in Theatre B.A. because I want to double major (something the BFA doesn't allow you to do). As for your acepptance, I'm not sure. You stats seem good to get in, but the audition is the biggest thing for you. I guess you will just have to wait and see. Also, did you put anything as a 2nd choice major?

I put BFA as 1st and BA as 2nd, so if I don't get into the program I'll end up somewhere else. I want the rigor of the BFA but would also love the BA because I love musical theatre and vocal jazz performance and would enjoy the freedom of having more electives or a minor. Acting is the only thing I want to do really. I'm good at it, and I love it more than anything else. Thanks for the kind words and I hope to see you there!

Ya! Let us know how it turns out! Best of luck!

Im still waiting to hear. Im thinking most of them probably go out on this last wave.

PeaceB: good. maybe we'll be accepted together? What is your 1st choice?

Winfrey7: forgot to ask you what you're minoring in?

At first i wanted BFA but now i feel i really want to do the BA cause I also have other things I have an interest in like dance and marketing and stuff. So yeah I hope I get the BA. I've put so much time into my USC application. I'm in WA state so yeah I'm OOS. But i went down to LA for my audition and went to a campus tour and a drama center tour and talked to Lori again. I feel that USC is where I belong. I love how you feel apart of something just walking around the campus. It is an amazing environment and place to learn and i really hope i get in.

Oh, I know. I'm from Oregon and visited last November then auditioned in Feb in SF. I just love it there -- the diversity of people is awesome!

Yeah I loved it too. I spent majority of my day there just walking around and checking stuff out. It's Amazing to say the least. What did you do for your monologues? I did Biff from Death of a Salesman and Malvolio from Twelfth Night

they had us prepare 2 but only perform 1. Mine was from Early Dark by Reynolds Price.

Is anyone going to the Open House on the 12th?

Yeah i only did my Contemporary Death of a Salesman one.

I also applied and was accepted on the March 14th wave to the BA Theatre Program. I picked the BA because I want to minor in Musical Theatre.

I'm going to the Open House on the 12th. Is anyone else?

bump.......
