<p>I'm interested in applying for the Music Industry major at USC, and wanted to know exactly how much experience is required.</p>
<p>My only musical instruction is three years of middle school concert band, and I made it into our advanced band as a percussionist in 8th grade. </p>
<p>Since then, I went to a science school that offered no music programs. I'm beginning to teach myself to play guitar and I'm using GarageBand to start writing songs (using the software instruments and guitar).</p>
<p>I'm very interested in music and would like to pursue it as a career, and I think that the music industry major is the best way to go. What are my chances if I haven't had any internships or any real instruction since middle school?</p>
