<p>Alice Schoenfeld, violinist and Thornton faculty member, has added to a recent donation to the music school on the USC campus. In October she donated $3 million for Schoenfeld Hall, a state of the art recital hall for Thornton. This week she has added $7 million for music scholarships. Alice Schoenfeld holds the Schoenfeld Chair of Violin at Thornton.</p>
<p>The Schoenfeld Scholarships will be awarded to gifted and accomplished string students.
Chair of the Thornton strings department is Midori Oto. Midori holds the Jascha Heifetz Chair in Violin and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Cellist, Ralph Kirshbaum, holds the Gregor Piatigorsky Chair in Violincello and Glenn Dicterow is the holder of the new Robert Mann Chair in Strings and Chamber Music.</p>
