USC Thornton's Midori Will Receive International Award

<p>The renowned Midori who holds the Jascha Heifetz Chair in Violin at the USC Thornton School of Music will receive another major honor. In late January she will accept the Crystal Award at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland. The award is given to only one individual who has used art and influence to contribute to society.</p>

<p>Midori has established various programs to bring concerts and music education to children in the U.S. and abroad. She also serves as Chair of the Thornton Strings Department.</p>

<p>In the past Midori won the Avery Fisher Prize as well as named a Messenger of Peace by the United Nations among other honors.</p>
