[] Job/Work Experience: College-15 hrs/wk at FYE,HS:Jamba Juice and Camp Counselor
[] Essays (subject and responses): Hard for me to judge my own essay, but I really think that is what got me in. I wrote about passions and how I dream of working in the music industry and how my love for music helped me commit to school, and commit to attending USC. Threw in some jokes and personality too

I thought my short answers were also really helpful with my admission, I was very specific and had clear cut career goals and goals for USC, I named specific teachers that I was interested in taking from as well.
[] Letters of Recommendation: I have no idea what they wrote, I’m assuming they were good. I had one from my favorite HS teacher, and one from my college English professor.
[/ul]Other:[ul]
[] Other schools applied to: NYU(accepted), LMU(accepted)
[li] Comments: I will definitely be attending USC!! I am so excited. [/li]Also for next year’s applicants don’t worry when it gets late, my status changed to the admission committee is reviewing on 5/29 and they acted on it 6/1. Also, make sure your essays/short answers really show who you are and have good goals in mind, if any future transfers want to read mine please message me. Good luck and (I can’t believe I get to say this now) FIGHT ON!

[/ul]Other:[ul]
[] Other schools applied to:USF School of Architecture and Community Design, Accepted
[li] Comments:As you can see from my GPA, I definitely got lucky. My GPA took a blow from an art prof who failed me for a very insignificant reason. I strongly believe that the reason I got accepted to both schools was because of my design portfolio and the fact that I never got a grade lower than an A in architecture classes.[/li][/ul]

Other
Other schools applied to: SCAD (accepted) CalArts (rejected)
Comments: My second time applying as a transfer to USC! I got accepted for my second choice major. I am bummed that I am not in Animation (also within SCA,) but I have been thinking of switching to Critical Studies or an equivalent for a long time, and USC has probably the best program for this major in the nation (if not, the world!) I may not attend, however – financial aid is a HUGE factor, and my package was not generous enough. Making an appeal, as I qualify for some of their appealing reasons.

[ *] Comments: Looking back at my stats it’s pretty obvious why I didn’t get in. To be honest I only started my app like a week and a half before it was due so I know next time around I’ll work much more and harder on everything.
As cheesy as this is gonna sound, my desire for USC really motivated me to do so much better not just to impress them but to like actually prepare myself to not just get in next time but really excel there. I know I started my app super late in the game but afterwards I couldn’t think of anything but SC. The school really drove me to get my act together. I changed my major, raised my gpa and instead of lounging at beach and drinking it up (it’s legal to drink if you’re 18 here hehe^^) all summer, which i would still prefer to do, instead i’m an unpaid full-time intern…ugh haha

[] Other schools applied to: Cal Poly Pomona (accepted, need to call them and tell them to remove me from their system. I just lost $170 "/)
[li] Comments: I thought USC was done with me because I didn’t hear anything from them and had to call them on June 11th. They told me my application was actually still under review and that I should hear the week after. Then my admissions counselor personally called me to ask if I had any other majors in mind. I freaked out at this point but decided to add English and physics/computer science to my app. I originally applied for Annenberg and Marshall but didn’t get in, and got in with English. I don’t know what made me stand out to make them still want me, I was really surprised. But I’m going for sure because it’s a great school and I’m getting a free ride. Weeeee! Also my mom works there, but I don’t think that makes a difference. The English classes seem pretty interesting but I’m going to try to switch to annenberg or at least minor in communications once there.[/li]If you got rejected, keep trying! This is my 3rd time applying (once out of hs, 2nd time trying to transfer) and I finally got in!
Where all my Filipino Trojans at?! Haha

[li] Comments: USC’s admissions got light this year. I had a 3.50 in Summer 08, 2.80 GPA in the Fall, 1.08 GPA in the Winter, and 2.50 in Spring. I was lucky. I did not get any financial aid initially because my family income was over $200,000 but after talking to an financial officer, they gave me some really nice grants and scholarships. Really lucky. My advice for others. Don’t tell your admissions officer you bombed a course until after you are admitted. Or even if you got straight C’s in the spring semester… For physics… I was so close to a D I was lucky I got a C in it. Also, sign up for classes that looks great before sending your transcripts and then change your classes to something else than what they expect. For the spring, I had economics, accounting, political science, multi-variable calc and linear algebra… They saw that but later, I dropped all that to sign up for physics, spanish, french, and bicycling. I dropped french later with a W. Still, the admissions counselor was fine with it. I just got lucky. I only spent 1 year at the community college too. I graduated high school just a year ago.[/li][/ul]
