[] ECs listed on app: Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity, Hawaii Club, Varsity Track, Varsity Cross Country, Concert/Marching Band
[] Job/Work Experience: Lead Generation at a solar company
[] Essays (subject and responses): For the EC one I talked about how running taught me to be mentally tough and how I apply it to school and everyday life. In the USC supplement I talked about I always played monopoly when I was younger which sparked my interest in business and how, if accepted, I will take advantage of the many organizations USC has that my current school doesn’t. In the last one, I talked about how my high school was famous for its school spirit and after coming to Chapman I realized how important school spirit was to me, which is why I want to transfer to USC. My friends, both are at USC and one is a trustee scholar, edited and approved them so I’d assume that they are pretty good.

[/ul]Other:

[ul]
[] Other schools applied to: None.
[*] Comments: I think making 80% of transfer applicants wait until July to receive their decisions is simply poor form. Students are giving up hundreds of dollars in deposits so USC can play the hedging game. The money we paid to apply deserves better than this. [/ul]

DELETED. Can’t get it to work.

Applied to Marshall. (2nd Choice Undecided)

Stats

College transferring from: CCC
Entering as: Sophomore (Junior depending on if they accepted units from Military. CSU gave me 20 extra units)
GPA: 3.89
Units completed: 40
Units in progress: 13
Pre-reqs completed: Calculus, Financial Accounting, (Managerial Acctounting in current semester)
GEs completed: Cat I, II, III, Diversity, Writing, (Cat V in current semester)

Subjective

ECs listed on app: Genetic Genealogy, Full-time Father and Husband - Married 5 years, 2 year old daughter
Job/Work Experience: 7 Years Military. Active Duty Army Infantry. Staff Sergeant, 27 months in Combat.
Essays (subject and responses): Talked about how I struggled in CC after I first gradguated from HS in 2003. Joined the military to find purpose and direction. Military service instilled values in me, experience/interacted with different cultures as well as different kinds of people in adverse situations. “More than just carrying a weapon; my duty was about keeping people honest,” Related it to business and interest in accounting. Goal is to provide the best for my family and a degree from USC would help achieve that goal.
Letters of Recommendation: Three. One from Economics Chair and Professor at CC (Ph.D in Econ) whose son also attends USC, One from philosophy professor who earned his Ph.D from USC, and one from English Professor.

Other schools applied to: CSULB (Accepted), CSUF (Accepted), CAL POLY Pomona (Accepted), and CAL POLY SLO (Accepted).

Comments: If USC accepts my ACE transcripts from the Military, which they say they do on their site (who really knows), I might receive 20 additional elective units like CSU gave me. With 20 extra units, I would be transferring as a Junior (But would still need to take the same class load as a sophomore).

Ill update when I know more. Good luck to all.

The main one for the common app talked about how being a psychology major and taking pre-med classes isn’t satisfying my hunger for knowledge and what being a Trojan means to me. I also talked about volunteering and whatnot, and wanting to get more involved. The Supplements I talked about volunteering I do with my sorority and I went more into detail about wanting to be a Neuroscience major
