Hey @jasmine2468 and @filmbuff24! I’m film production also (junior transfer). This wait is taking forever! What are your stats?
Yeah I’m stressing about my calc grade! I need a 75 on the final to maintain an A, but I’m scared for sure! How’s your going?

@itsconnord Hello! I am finishing up the IGETC at a CA CC. I have only taken a couple film courses because my CC offers very little, but I have taken an editing class and a production class and really fell in love with editing. I have a 3.5 GPA with a mix of A’s and B’s. I have done a few independent videos and short films and then PA’d on a few short films and music videos in the Sacramento area. I have already been rejected from Loyola Marymount and UCLA so I thought I had no chance of getting into USC, but a faculty member reviewing my app called me and said she really like it so now I have no idea what to expect and I’ve had my fingers crossed ever since! What about you?
@filmbuff24 thats awesome! Usc definitely seems like the place for you im at Penn State currently and have around a 3.6. Ive only taken a few film classes also but have produced a bunch of my own shorts and have also assisted with a few senior projects. I absolutely LOVE penn state but ive wanted to be a trojan since i was little but was too afraid to apply out of high school sooo i figured might as well apply and see what happens!

@itsconnord I completed all their GE requirements and foreign language. I have a GPA of 4.0 so far from a CC. I havent received any calls or spring grade requests. I got into UCLA film school and waiting on NYU and Chapman so far.
Do you guys know if getting a phone call is crucial? I am getting a little worried. I really want to go to USC
@itsconnord Thanks! Good luck with getting in. It sounds like you’ve done a lot on your own which will probably look good on your app.
@jasmine2468 I don’t think the phone call is crucial at all. I think the phone call was just something that lady likes to do. It seemed like she just wanted to hear why I wanted to go to USC and what type of projects I wanted to work on. She stressed to me that the phone call was in no way an acceptance and that the final decision was not up to her.
@filmbuff24 Thank you for letting me know! I guess I am just stressed out. I am so glad they called you though. I think one gets a better idea of the person when there is some sort of personal communication. Good Luck and keep me posted!
