[] Job/Work Experience: Currently a babysitter/nanny; worked in retail beforehand
[] Essays: I don’t think they were very good… Nothing special either. Just talked about how my interest in the medical field sparked when I was young (my mother is a cancer survivor). I can’t remember what the other prompts were…
[] Letters of Recommendation: One from my biology professor and another from my organic chemistry professor

My YouSC portal has not yet updated and I never had access to OASIS.
I did receive an email notifying me that my financial aid summary was being worked on at about 1:30am on May 27, and then received my acceptance letter in the mail later that same day. For those interested in the specifics, this is what it said in the email:
“WHY WE’RE WRITING YOU:
We have received and are currently reviewing your financial aid application for the 2015-2016 academic year.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:
You can determine the status of your financial aid application by logging in to your Financial Aid Summary and Tasks (FAST) page at www.usc.edu/financialaid by clicking on the FAST link in the toolbox.
Once your Financial Aid Summary is complete, we will notify you via e-mail. Please be sure to check online regularly for any important updates from the Financial Aid Office.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
When you receive your Financial Aid Summary, we encourage you to review it carefully. The summary will list the aid you are eligible to receive and detail your next steps to ensure the proper receipt of your funds. Be sure to inform us as soon as possible if any family circumstances have changed since you originally completed your application.”

[*] Comments: Really excited to be attending USC, it’s been my dream school ever since visiting. It just worked out perfectly that USC is also really strong in my desired field of study. My GEs were definitely not my strong part, but that’s because Oregon State didn’t have a lot of transferable courses. I’m just happy they realized that and took a chance on me.

[] College transferring from: University of Miami for freshmen year then CC for sophomore

[] ECs listed on app: several, but I honestly thought they are not impressive and thought I didn’t describe them thoroughly in the application
[] Job/Work Experience: some community service and internship experiences from high school. Again, I didn’t think they are impressive
[] Essays (subject and responses): I wrote about how I evolved as a student transferring from 4-year uni to CC and how the dedication developed. But honestly I thought they are pretty generic too LOL
[] Letters of Recommendation: 1, from my counselor at CC who I talk to a lot. I wouldn’t say it is impressive, but it is definitely genuine as she knows a lot about me and feel my commitment!

[] Other schools applied to: UCLA(rejected), UCSB(rejected), UCI(rejected), UCD(waitlisted), UCR(accepted), UCSD(rejected), UCB(rejected)
[*] Comments: I honestly still cannot believe this. This road to college has been a real bumpy one ever since high school. I definitely have the quite unusual experience as opposed to normal CC or 4-year students. I started freshmen at UM but didn’t enjoy it so much and I made a risky decision to attend CC. Seeing my friends having fun at their unis just made me miserable each and everyday. I can’t count how many days I cry myself to sleep and thinking how much of a hopeless future I have ahead of me. I still think I don’t stand out as an applicant because I do not have impressive gpa, stats, ECs, etc. Hell, I even get rejected by almost all UCs I applied to and that really made me give up on USC. But I am truly thankful that USC sees the potential in me and grants me a chance to prove that. All I want to say is don’t give up. I honestly think I am the last person any school would consider admitting, but hey I still get a chance! So believe in yourself! Fight On!
@kyrakyrayu919 Damn im in the same exact situation as you bro. USC was literally my last hope and I’ve heard nothing :/. My options are to go back to my first school or apply to my local csu. Can’t even stay at CC because I have all my lower division done. Congratulations though please live it up for the both of us!
Decision Date & Time: Says May 23 on the PDF file, I found out May 29.

[] College transferring from: De Anza College
[] Entering as: Junior
[] GPA: 4.0 at De Anza, 3.65-3.7 when weighted with my first “stint” at college (did very poorly, 5+ W’s, etc.)
[] Units completed: Not sure - I’m well over 60 semester units.
[] Units in progress: 15 quarter units
[] Pre-reqs completed: I still need my last quarter of calculus and CHEM – however, I got all A+'s (97%+) in calculus which may or may not have helped me?
[] GEs completed: All but 1 category which might actually be finished.
[/ul]Subjective:
[ul]
[] ECs listed on app: CS tutor (data structs/C++) 4-5 hours per week
[] Essays (subject and responses): Had to take quite a few essays for Viterbi and each had a different focus, but I talked about how I turned my life around after my first stint at college, how I wanted to help empower others around the world with computers, and how important education is to me now.
[] Letters of Recommendation: 1 from my CS Professor, I’m currently tutoring her students
[/ul]Other:
[list]
[] Other schools applied to: UCB, UCSD, UCD, UCSC
[] Comments: So the weird thing is that I haven’t gotten any admissions packet in the mail yet and I found out about my admission through YouSC. From the transfer thread, it sounds like people have been getting their postal mail packet first before YouSC updates. I think my packet might be lost in the mail or it got sent out late? I will edit this post once it’s arrived.
Also, I got rejected at Cal, waitlisted at UCSD and UCD, and accepted at UCSC. Was really feeling down because I thought I would at least get into Davis, but to be honest I think the entire UC system is getting very impacted and crowded for engineering majors now (I likely didn’t get in because of missing the last calculus course?). Anyway, I’m so grateful that USC has accepted me and spent time looking through my entire application, and I’m happy to say I’m now a Trojan! Fight on!
