[li] Comments: If USC sent you a SGR, you sent in your grades, and you have not heard anything from them call (213)740-1111 and make sure they know that they have your spring grades. You might be in the same boat I was in. I called after not hearing anything for two weeks to make sure everything was in order. The lady in the admissions office brought up my file and said they received my grades but the system did not update so she had to manually update it. aka they had my grades but did not know they had them. Next day they sent my acceptance letter and I received it a day after that. [/li]
I did not graduate high school.

@KoobzAnatomy Congrats! So awesome to hear of another person from CLT who loves USC. I’m going to be attending CPCC this fall… attended RCCC across town this past year but the place is kind of going downhill honestly. I’m applying to USC Price next year and I was wondering if you would be willing to message me about classes you took at CP…I want to make sure everything I take is going to transfer. Once again, great job and I hope you enjoy USC.

[ *]ECs listed on app: Professional musician who ran own business with band members for seven years. Spoke about travels around US and world. No groups or clubs at SMC, but dedicated Mandarin student. Spoke about music involvement in high school, though it was 10 years ago. Stressed that had taken up most of my time.
[ *]Job/Work Experience: Musician, freelance photographer, restaurant work.
[ *]Essays (subject and responses): About travel and love of landscape, developing interest in Earth Sciences. Traveled to Asia three years ago and spoke about my desire to study Chinese abroad over there. Essays were not USC oriented; in fact, I sorta repurposed them from the UCLA ones which were longer.

[ list]
[ *]Other schools applied to: UCLA (rejected), Vanderbilt (rejected)
[ *]Comments: Didn’t finish USC’s gen ed path, only had two categories done. I think good grades at SMC were the most helpful, did 11 classes this year (fall, winter, spring and summer terms) with 10 As and one B in Chemistry. Didn’t have anywhere close to the full prereq list for Geology BS.
I did not think I would get accepted and literally tripped over the envelope on my bedroom’s doorstep when I got home last night. I am a case where I had a 1.6 GPA my first run through at college. I worked really hard this year at SMC to bring that up. I think the lesson is that showing progress and genuine interest in learning and passion for a subject will get you places, even if it isn’t at USC, so KEEP WORKING!!! I had been rejected from NYU, Vanderbilt, and UCLA before this. Things will eventually get where they need to be if you keep at it, everyone.

Did any of you submit your old test scores/ retake ACT or SAT ? Also I am planning on doing a domestic exchange program at USC spring 2017 (when I’ll find out if I got accepted) so if they ask for a SGR it’ll be kinda funny cause i’ll be sending them a transcript from their own school haha
I know this thread was from last year, but I’m just so impatient waiting on the decisions to come out! [-O< So I take it that they notify you way before the June 1st date they set? Lol
