USC transfer for architecture major

I'm currently at Los Angeles Pierce College, and I just recently graduated high school this past June. I'm planning to the the one year thing at CC, then transfer to USC as a sophomore.

-Does anyone know what are the chances of getting in as a sophomore?
-I also have a portfolio which I've been building for several months now, what exactly does USC's transfer program look for?

not too sure on your chances, but be aware that you would have to start all over and stay there for five years if you want the b.arch

My son knows an architecture transfer from a CC. Are you sure you have to start all over? Wasn’t aware of that.

yeah, the b.arch requires 5 years of studio… can’t make that up at a CC.
I had two transfers from CC in my studio before i changed majors.

I know that based on your portfolio, students are placed into different categories of studio? I have heard of starting over and doing 5 years though, but I thought that’s only for if students were placed into beginning studio art?

Arctic–did you change your major out of Architecture at USC?

^ yessir, though technically i’m still architecture because i havent declared otherwise (currently taking pre-reqs for internal transfer instead of studio)

not true. all freshmen are in the same studio session, split up into various sections randomly. you would have to start over because in order to graduate with a b.arch, you need 5 years of studio at usc.

however, if you go the b.s. arch route you only need two years of studio so you can graduate earlier.
