USC transfer likely for me?

I had a friend tell me I had good enough stats to transfer to USC as a sophomore. I don't know if I do or not, can someone give me their opinion?

College GPA: 4.0 (but with only 3 classes) english 101, chem 101, phil 101

HS ACT score: composite 29, English 34, Math 27, Reading 28, Science 25

HS GPA: weighted 3.83, non weighted 3.71

AP credit: calc ab 4, us gov 3, us hist 3.

EC: eagle scout, lots of high school sports, volunteer work

Intended major: Computer science and business administration

Spring semester at my community college I'll take and make sure I get A's in: calc 2, phil 112, hopefully phy 101 (I might have to go to a diff. cc for this)

well after 30 credits at community college the high school record becomes irrelevant. i think you're doing great most def. worth a shot to do it i'd say bc although you won't have the 30 units completed, you're clearly on an upward trend with your grades and now that you're in "college" and it's believed to be more challenging. so that should work to your favor!

Hey guys my names sukh, i had a question about getting into USC. I took a few classes at a nearby community college where i live but i ended up droppng those courses with an "F" and a "W" so if i make up both courses will that increase my chance of acceptance? (All my other grades are a's and b's)

im trying to get into USC for fall 08 as well
im currently at skidmore college (top 50 LAC) and have taken 4 courses worth 15 creds in total...my gpa will range from anything between 3.5 to 3.8...do you guys think the grades from Skidmore will hold more weight against CCs? if not then im kinda screwed...haha i hope they see the upward trend in my grades since my hs gpa was like 3.3..i wonder if being an intl student will work in my favor cus im from hong kong

what do you guys think of my chances?

hope to able to see you guys at usc next year!

jdizzle, even with 3 courses, your HS record is good enough for USC to have accepted you as a freshman. You should apply for sure.

manutd4ever, your college gpa is somewhat low (if you get a 3.5) and so is your HS record; perhaps you should give it a full year to establish a higher college record.
