On USC’s brochure it says “Meet our math requirement by demonstrating a mastery of Algebra II in high school, or Intermediate Algebra in college.” I took Geometry, Algebra II, Trig/Stats, and AP Stats in high school, but I have not taken a math class yet in CC. In high school, I took Algebra II for one semester again because I got a D that got replaced with an A the second time I took the class again. (I barely got away with a C in my math classes, but I did better in statistics with B’s).
So, just to be on the same side, should I take a college algebra class? If I do, do you think USC would let me take it pass/fail? Right now, I have a 4.0 GPA, and my only weakness is math. Or have I “demonstrated mastery of Algebra II in high school”? Has anyone been accepted into USC with the bare minimum for math?
TL;DR: CC student who is bad at math; should I take a College Algebra for pass/fail? Or would that not count?
