USC Transfer Orientation. July 01, 2008

I would like to know if anyone has signed up for the July 1st orientation.

Have you booked you accommodation?
Finished your Pre-orientation homework?

If you any information to share, it will be greatly welcome.

It'd be hilarious if someone got their admission rescinded for cheating on pre-orientation homework.

Just to start the ball rolling,

I will be traveling from No Cal. I have yet to find a place to stay, but I do have friends at UCLA so I'm hoping to crash there for a few days. :P

Welcome to the USC Orientation Programs Website
Link to orientation page.

There are 2 fees to pay.
One is the Mandatory Orientation Fee - $150
Additional Session Fee - $100

If you plan to stay at USC housing, it will also cost more.

To Easy,

HAHA. That will suck big time!

But I guess it's impossible to check that because its all done online at home. :P

gabong - did you get an email telling you that you could sign up for orientation?

gabong-when did you submit your deposit?

I want to sign up soon too! :) I payed my commitment deposit just this past Sunday though. >_<

hey guys, i just posted this over in the admitted students thread, but i'll repost here:
for everyone still waiting to sign up for orientation, you can try to log into orientation reservations but it will block you if you have not gotten the email allowing you to log into reservations. i learned the hard way...it basically told me that i wasn't allowed because my deposit hasn't processed in 5-7 business days (which, uh, it's been 5 business days guys get on it) seriously, they're holding to that 7 business days processing of your deposit, regardless if you're using USC email/can log in ANYWHERE on the USC website with your ID/USClogon.

hey, can someone clarify the $150 fee? how does it work? because reading the info online says : "This fee is included in the estimated cost of attendance".

now, does this mean we would pay it after orientation?

simply-i think what the $150 is included in the estimated cost of your entire tuition. that doesn't include the $100 session fee, so orientation is actually $250 total for 1 person (the mandatory fee and the session fee) and then each additional person is $100.

simplycyn- no you still have to pay for it before orientation. This just means that when calculating your need-based financial aid, they include that fee in the estimated COA. Basically everyone pays for it, even those who are getting a load of money in grants.

are you serious? 100 Dollars for each additional person? Holy Molly! Were not all money bags!

sunsetsam-yep. hence why my parents are not showing up until trojan parents weekend...

yeah im in for july 1st. i was accepted near the end of May. I told my dad not to come because of the price too. haha.

fight_on, what day did you pay your deposit????

i'm getting so nervous i'm not going to get july 1, and that is the only date i can attend.

Seriously. :p My parents can come any other day.

ksbr27 & RelientK OH OK. got it. thanks.

i know. i too will not be bringing my parents. but they did want me to get the trojan spirit box for them.

ksbr...I don't have exact dates but I found out everything in the May 12-20 region and I finished housing and payment also that week.

fight_on-oh ok thanks. so i'm guessing i get to wait until next week to register :/ i hope july 1 is still available!

i'm ridiculously excited for spirit box.

Next week?! ugh. Oh well... see you tomorrow!!! :D
