USC Transfer Plan?

I got my USC rejection letter today, but at the end of the letter it said:

"After reviewing your application, we determined that you are among a special group of students whose eventual enrollment at USC is of great interest of us. As such, we have set aside the final weeks in June, from the 11th to the 29th, for you to meet with a member of our admission staff. Our aim is to counsel you subsequent to your high school graduation and help you establish a personalized transfer plan. Such a plan may assist you in gaining admission to USC as a transfer student within the next two or three semesters."

What is this? Can I still appeal?

My D has the same. Is it a solid acceptance if you follow the plan or does everyone get this message with their rejection?

I posted this in another thread.

Can I still appeal?

So I shouldn’t appeal? I really want to get in this upcoming fall semester :/

Not legacy but twin brother got in. She will go to the meeting but knowing my D it will be hard to pry her away from UCSB ( accepted there ) once she makes friends.

Just got son’s financial aid packet. She WILL transfer, friends or not. USC very, very generous.

Congrats prouduscdad

I was wondering: If we send an appeal but get rejected, can we still go along with the Trojan Transfer plan and eventually transfer into USC?

lskim01, yes as long as you keep to the transfer plan’s requirements. No harm in trying to appeal.

Thanks guys, so USC isn’t really annoyed with appeals like the UC system?

Has anyone received this type of rejection/transfer letter in the past few years and followed through with the transfer plan? I’d love to know if it paid off with an admission to USC after 2 or 3 semesters at a junior college. Thanks!

Hey you guys,

For all of you that got rejected this year, I know how it feels. It sucks. But I got offered the Trojan Transfer Plan, and I’m applying for transfer right now. Basically, if you have a 3.6 GPA with good EC’s, you have “high” chance of getting in.

I remember browsing through the forum last year and one guy didn’t get in and he was on the TTP because he got a W and C his last semester, but reapplied his junior year and got in other than that if you read through the USC Transfer thread 2011, they accepted an applicant with a 3.35 Marshall, and a 3.5, and a 3.0 on TTP

Basically, just work hard and transfer!!! Don’t let this bring you down. I Felt horrible too, but it’s not the end of the world. And USC is super competitive, I mean 45,000 applicants (Freshman) compared to 12,000-15,000 applicants for transfers.

And focus on your major requirements/GE!
