Hello everyone, I am currently at a California community college near San Francisco and am hoping/planning to attend the Fall 2012 semester at a four-year Southern California college after transfer.

I am currently researching CSUs, UCs and private schools in the LA region and came across the University of Southern California. The college looks great! And would love to attend, if I'm admitted that is!

The major I intend on applying for at USC is Communication at Annenberg. I know for a fact that admission to Annenberg as a Communication major is extremely competitive, but I'm going for it anyway! By the time I apply later this year for Fall 2012 admission I hope to be done with all communication prerequisites (Mass Media of Communication, Linguistics, Sociology, Psychology, Politics, Statistics, Speech and Economics).

Thankfully the USC transfer application gives the opportunity of listing a first and second choice major. So I'm listing my first choice major as communications and my second choice major as anthropology (I've already taken 3+ anthropology classes and enjoyed them all!).

So my question is this, if I get rejected as a communications major and accepted as an anthropology major, what are my chances of changing/switching from anthropology to communications? Or how would I go about doing that?

Any information, suggestions or opinions would be greatly appreciated!
