USC transfer question

My friend told me that you NEED at least a 3.8 gpa to transfer to USC. I asked him what his sources are and he told me that his counselor told him that and that it also said that on the website. I went to their website to see If i could find this statement but I could not. Is there any truth to this?

[Transfer Students - USC Undergraduate Admission](http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/apply/transfer.html)

So reads one paragraph:
“Concentrate on USC-transferable courses that build on your high school record, satisfy general education and other requirements, and include preparation for your major. Seventy-five percent of the transferable courses should cover these areas, and you are expected to have at least an “A-/B+” average on transferable work.”

Thus, I assume they expect a 3.5 or above. 3.7 is quite high for a cutoff.

The word of mouth I get from my friends that attend USC (either by transfer or by admission out of high school) is that transferring into USC isn’t particularly difficult. A 3.8 would make you extremely competitive for admission. Do you NEED it? Not really. Do you need something close to it? Yup.
