USC transfers.

I was told they are only asking for my HS records to verify I graduated and that I had already completed the math requirement in HS so I didn't need to take algebra in college. They told me that after 3 semesters at a 4-year university HS records don't matter.

So it's safe to say that the two english requirements and calculus in college would be good for a sophomore transfer? (Freshman who will transfer into USC as a sophomore)

As long as you did well in those classes I'd say that it's a very good start.

If you are transferring in as a sophomore then at the time of applying the most you could have completed is 18 credits because their deadline is in January of February to be accepted for the following Fall. So you would have to have been admissable as a freshman in order to be accepted as a sophomore. What I mean is if this is your freshman year and you didn't apply in January you can't apply until next January for Fall 2007. If you did apply in January then when you sent your application the most you could have had from 1 semester as a freshman is 12-18 credits depending on which school you are at, so they would base their decision mostly on your HS record.

Well I'm in the process of completing credits now but I will be done in May (34 credits). So I'll have more than 30 at the time of my application. Also, does USC not require essays for transfers. I looked it up on the site but it was kind of vague. Even so, would it be good to write one anyways? Just want to say thanks for you guys help so far

Yeah... you have to write essay as part of the application. From official USC application website:

"Essay Questions for Fall 2006 applicants:

Please write an essay, approximately 500-700 words (typically one page) in length on one of following topics.

The 18th century French philosopher Denis Diderot said, “Only passions, great passions can elevate the soul to great things.” Describe one of your passions and reflect on how it has contributed to your personal growth.

It is common knowledge that Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. What most people don’t know is that he tried over 6,000 times before succeeding. Reflect on an accomplishment you achieved in an unlikely way.

Newton’s First Law of Motion states that an object in motion tends to stay in motion in the same direction unless acted upon by an external force. Tell us about an external influence (a person, an event, etc.) that affected you and how it caused you to change direction. "

Thank :)

USC does require essays for transfers. However, reccomendations are optional.

Did you apply already? They mean at the actual time of your application. If you've already applied then what you are in the process of completeing won't go into your admission decision in terms of credits(they will still need your spring grades to make sure you had an upward trend or stayed consistent). They will still base their decision mostly on your HS record though.

No I have'nt applied yet..I am applying for Fall 07

So, has anyone received any word yet from admissions?

I need to know when Business is being announced, but no one can really tell me at the school. Some tell me that they have to wait for the final grades, and I dont get out of school until the 18th of May. Anyone know?

screw usc...i don't care anymore cuz i just got into UCLA :-D

paperclipz, why can't you do the classy thing and take the high road? You should too busy celebrating to be worried about SC.

i wasnt attacking anyone...just saying i cant afford to pay for usc anyway so im happy for ucla...

Yeah because "screw USC" is very classy. Just because you can't afford the school doesn't mean you have to make remarks about it. Let bygones be bygones.

I think Kudos is a little stressed. I think those of us who are waiting need to relax a little more, and those of us who have been accepted need to bring it down a notch and be a little more humble.

Goodluck Kudos.

Nina, I'm not stressed. I just don't appreciate the comments about my potential next school. I was rejected from UCLA, but I'm not going to be bitter about it and attack them. I have a mutual respect for other schools and their students enough not to make immature comments on threads.

"My potential next school"
LOL
What a douche.

i love you xcb123xcb.
