My son has his appt with admissions next month for the trojan transfer plan....anyone familiar with what courses he will need to take before transferring? I've read on some posts its 30-32 units which he plans to start with a summer session at a cc, any help would be appreciated!

They are probably going to go over this:

Essentially, your son will be taking classes that can be transferred over to USC. Last year I met with a USC counselor and that was essentially what they told me. Your son has to make sure that he maintains a 3.5 or 3.6 gpa (as what my counselor told me; it may be outdated) to increase his chances of getting in.

Chances are USC will ask you son for winter/spring grades to make sure that he’s doing well. The response after is pretty quick, for it took around two weeks after sending out my winter transcript for them to make a decision.

Thank you, very much appreciated…question, did you take summer, fall and winter term, and is it correct that they need 30-32 units?

Yes, I took summer school, and fall/winter quarters since I’m at a quarter system school. 30-32 units is needed, but if you don’t have that many units, they’ll focus more on your high school grades.

Thanks so much…he’s set for Summer!

hey guys, i have my meeting with the plan too. Say if you complete 60 units can you still be part of the plan because i want to transfer in as a junior. thanks.
