I’m currently applying to USC as a transfer applicant and I’ve also been offered the Trojan Transfer Plan (TTP) by USC. I know that the TTP increases my chances of being admitted, however, I know it doesn’t guarantee it. All of the other threads say that if you maintain a GPA of 3.7 and take certain classes you are basically guaranteed admission. Unfortunately, last quarter I received a 3.5 and this quarter I received a 3.27 which leaves me with a cumulative of 3.37. I wrote a stellar essay and have had good extracurriculars, however, I feel this dip in my GPA will significantly lower my chances of being admitted, even with TTP.
I honestly just really want to know what to expect when admission decisions roll around because I have a little hope knowing that the TTP improves my chances of getting in but I’m concerned that my GPA is too low. Can anyone that has gone through the TTP process help?
Any advice on this is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
They probably will be requesting Winter Qtr grades. Recently, someone with the TTP and applying for Fall 2018 received a transcript request to submit Winter Qtr grades. The person had a 3.9 GPA (2 A’s, 1 A-, 15 units) in the freshman Fall Qtr and previously submitted the transcripts. For Winter Qtr, this person has 3 A’s and 1 A- (20 units) and will submit. USC probably wants more history than just 1 quarter of grades to make a determination.
Just reviewing the blogs, 3.7 GPA should be targeted.
There is an active thread on TTP if you want to join the group talking over there too. As mentioned, 3.7 is the target GPA that pretty much guarantees you are in, but it also depends on major. You may get an SGR for current quarter, or you could slide in without one, particulary if they had a stellar high school record and the first quarter is strong as well, then no need to see more. TTP usually don’t get SGRs, but some do. No way to tell for sure, please keep us posted and let us know if you get an SGR or get accepted straight away. I wish you luck!
