USC, UC Berkeley, Claremont Colleges

Hi, I'm a high school senior. I would like to know my chances for the following schools: USC, UC Berkeley, Pomona, Occidental, Scripps, and UCLA

UC GPA: 3.71 (weighted) 3.46 (unweighted)

of AP/honors courses: 6 (including senior year)

SAT: 740 reading, 750 writing, 610 math (2100 total)

SAT 2s: 750 literature, 680 US history

AP scores: 5 on AP english language and comp, 5 on AP art history; I plan to take the tests for AP psychology, AP comp govt, and AP stat senior year

ECs: President of World Connection Club (2 yrs) , member of Model UN club (and various other community service clubs) (3yrs), play piano (6 yrs), and I've done community service at hospitals and senior citizen community centers

employment: I've worked at a cafe for the 4 yrs I've been in h.s. and am saving the money for college

honors/awards: I got an award in Spanish class sophmore year for being the top student.... um thats all.

recs/essays: I'm getting a teacher rec from my AP art history teacher who really likes me so I think it'll be good and a rec from my english honors teachers which should be fine. I consider myself a strong essay writer and think I'll manage to write really good essays because I plan to spend a lot of time one them.

Thanks for reading! I plan to major either in art history and english. I would love to get into UC berkeley but I know my GPA is pretty low; I'm hoping to raise it this year, but I dunno if senior year grades count much. Anyway, thanks for the feedback :)

Senior grades don’t count at all for the UCs. They do, however, look at the rigor of your senior course load.

I’d say you have next to no chance of getting into Berkeley pr UCLA with that GPA, although stranger things have happened.

You have a good chance at USC.

Pomona – no chance

Occidental – Match

Scripps – not sure
