Hi, I'm a fresheman business major at USC(in LA) and I'm considering transfer to UCLA or UCB. Based on what I heard, UC's give priorities to California CC so I am considering moving out to a CC if necessary. I would appreciate if people who are familiar with UCs' transfer admission to give me advices on how I should prepare for it. I welcome any comments, suggestion. Thanks! :)

It might work. But you should beware of the unit cap. You see, a student originaly at a JC can take as many units as they wish. However, for a student that has at least set foot in a 4 year school, they will not admit you if you pass a certain limit of units. I believe the unit cap is 150quarter or 100 semester units, but I'm not exactly sure.

The unit cap for Berkeley is 80 semester units.

Thanks for you comments. :) I'm still a freshman so I do not believe I would hit the cap. Do you have any suggestions as of how I should prepare for transfer?

Sounds good in theory. But you'd still have to provide the grades for courses you took at USC. I'm sure they'll be wondering WHY you left a four year school to go to a community college. I hope you have a good explanation for the admit essays.
